Add a website page manually

Add a specific public page and a source hint that tells your assistant when the content is relevant.

On this page

Sometimes you already know exactly where the approved answer lives. Adding that page manually is the quickest way to make it available to the assistant without scanning the rest of the website.

This guide shows you how to add the URL, write a useful source hint, and confirm that the page is ready for customer questions.

In this article, you'll learn:

Add the source#

Use the final public page address rather than an editor, preview, or sign-in link. The page needs to be accessible when Zeltino retrieves it.

  1. In Settings, under Learning data, select Website links.
  2. Select Add website link.
  3. In the URL field, enter the complete public address, including https://.
  4. In Source hint, explain which questions this page should answer.
  5. Select Add website link.
  6. Wait for the source to show Fetched or Complete before testing it.

You need the Developer, Admin, or Owner role to complete these steps. After you add the source, its status changes while the page is processed.

Write a useful source hint#

The source hint explains when this page is relevant. It should name both the topic and the kind of question the page can answer. Keep it short and concrete.

Good examples include:

  • Use for delivery countries, delivery times, and shipping restrictions.
  • Use for plan features, billing intervals, and upgrade questions.
  • Use for cancellation eligibility and the steps a customer must follow.

Avoid hints such as Website, FAQ, or Important information. They do not distinguish this source from the rest of your knowledge. A helpful hint should still make sense when someone reads it months later beside several other sources.

Choose the canonical page#

Use the page your team considers authoritative—the place colleagues would update first when the information changes. Prefer a permanent help, policy, product, or service page over a campaign page or an old announcement. The page should be accessible without an account and should state the answer directly.

Verify the result#

When the source shows Fetched or Complete, test it while the content is still fresh in your mind:

  1. Ask a question that the page answers explicitly.
  2. Ask a follow-up that refers to the first answer.
  3. Check that dates, amounts, limitations, and links match the public page.
  4. Refine the source or hint if the assistant cannot identify when to use it.

If the assistant misses an important detail, check whether the page states it clearly and whether the source hint covers that kind of question. Adding one page imports its content into the selected project; it does not add the entire website or provide live internet browsing.

To add several pages, use Find and import useful website pages. For maintenance, see Review, refresh, and remove website sources.
