Install the widget on another website platform
Use a site's global custom-code or head-script feature to install Zeltino on Squarespace, Wix, tag managers, and other platforms.
Your website does not need to use one of the dedicated installation guides to run Zeltino. If the platform allows a site-wide script in the document head, you can usually install the widget through its custom-code settings or shared layout.
The setting may have a different name on each platform, but the workflow is consistent: copy the project script, place it in the global head, publish the website, and verify the exact public domain.
In this article, you'll learn:
- How to copy the correct project script
- How to find the global head setting
- How to verify the published installation
Copy the project script#
Start from Zeltino so the code belongs to the project and domain you intend to connect:
- Open Settings > Chat widget > Installation.
- Add or select the exact public domain.
- Select Other platforms.
- Select Copy script.
Find the global head setting#
Open the website platform's project or site settings. Look for a feature named Custom Code, Code Injection, Head Scripts, Site-wide Code, or similar. Paste the copied code in the global head area, not in an individual page body.
Common examples include:
- Squarespace code injection;
- Wix custom code applied to all relevant pages;
- a consent-aware tag manager configuration;
- a CMS theme or global layout head section.
Apply the code to all public pages where chat should be available, then publish the change to the same hostname you added in Zeltino. Some platforms restrict custom code to particular plans or workspace roles; ask the website administrator if the setting is not visible.
Verify the installation#
Verification looks at the public website, so finish any platform-specific publish or deploy step before returning to Zeltino.
- Open the published website in a private browser window.
- Return to Installation.
- Wait for the domain to become Active, or select Refresh check.
- Turn on Enable chat widget on this website.
- Confirm the widget loads once on all intended pages.
If your platform cannot add site-wide head code, ask the person responsible for the website to place the script in the shared layout. For problems, see Troubleshoot widget installation and verification.
