Install the widget on Webflow

Add the project widget script to Webflow Head Code, publish the site, and verify the production domain.

On this page

Webflow's site-wide custom code gives you one place to install Zeltino across the project. After you add the script, you still need to publish the site—the saved Designer or Project Settings draft is not the version visitors can use.

This guide takes you from the Zeltino domain entry to a verified widget on the production Webflow hostname.

In this article, you'll learn:

Copy and add the script#

Begin with the exact production domain in Zeltino, then add its project-specific script to Webflow:

  1. In Zeltino, open Settings > Chat widget > Installation.
  2. Add or select the exact production domain.
  3. Select Webflow, then Copy script.
  4. In Webflow, open Project Settings > Custom Code.
  5. Paste the code into Head Code.
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Save the Webflow custom code.

Publish the Webflow site#

Saving custom code updates the Webflow project draft, but it does not update the public website. Publish the site to the same production hostname you added in Zeltino.

If your project offers several publish targets, select the one customers actually visit. A Webflow staging address and a custom domain are separate hostnames and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Verify and enable#

After publishing, open the production website in a private window. This confirms that you are not looking at an editor preview or a cached signed-in session.

  1. Open the published production website in a private browser window.
  2. Return to Zeltino Installation.
  3. Wait for Verifying to change to Active, or select Refresh check.
  4. Turn on Enable chat widget on this website.
  5. Test the widget on several pages and at a narrow viewport.

If verification fails, confirm the publish target, Head Code location, and caches using Troubleshoot widget installation and verification.
