Find and import useful website pages
Scan a website, review suggested knowledge pages, and import only the sources your assistant should use.
When a website contains several useful pages, adding every URL one at a time can be slow. Automatic discovery gives you a quicker way to find likely product, help, pricing, and policy content without giving up control over what becomes knowledge.
Zeltino scans the website and prepares suggestions for review. Nothing is imported until you choose the pages and confirm the selection.
In this article, you'll learn:
- How to start a website scan
- How to review and select suggested pages
- How to handle added, duplicate, or failed pages
- How to test the newly imported knowledge
Start a scan#
Open the project that should receive the sources, then begin from the website's main public address. You do not need to find every useful page before starting.
- In Settings, under Learning data, select Website links.
- Find Find knowledge pages automatically.
- Enter your website address. You can start from the main website address.
- Select Find pages.
The scan can move through queued, fetching, and classifying stages while Zeltino finds and evaluates pages. You can leave the page while that work continues. Return when Pages ready to review appears.
Review suggestions#
This review is where you turn a broad website scan into a focused knowledge set. Open each unfamiliar page and assess it by its customer value, not only by its title.
- Select pages with definitive answers to frequent questions.
- Leave out campaign pages, search results, duplicate language versions, outdated announcements, and thin navigation pages.
- Use Select all only after checking that every result belongs in the assistant's knowledge.
- Compare the number selected with the capacity shown in the review.
- Select Add pages to confirm the import.
The capacity summary changes with your selection, so you can see how many pages still fit before confirming. Pages already present in the project are marked Already added and cannot be selected again.
Review the import result#
After confirmation, the result separates pages that were Added, Already added, or Failed. This makes it clear which pages need attention instead of leaving you to compare the source list manually.
For a failed page:
- Confirm it opens without signing in.
- Confirm the URL is the final public page rather than an editor or preview link.
- Retry the import.
- If it continues to fail, use another authoritative page or create a private text source.
If you leave before confirming the selection, Zeltino keeps the review available. Select Resume from Website links to continue where you stopped.
Test the new knowledge#
Wait for each new source to show Fetched or Complete. Then ask one direct question from each important topic and at least one follow-up that depends on the first answer.
If an answer is incomplete, open the source page and confirm that the missing detail is stated explicitly. Also check whether an older page in the project contradicts it. Correct the source set first, then repeat the same question.
See Review, refresh, and remove website sources for ongoing maintenance.
